Registered Veterinary Nurse

Fiona is a registered veterinary nurse and practice owner at a Vets4Pets practice.  She has spent her career at the intersection of clinical care, client education and operational leadership.  It is from this frontline position that she has developed a deep commitment to effective parasite control — not as a compliance exercise, but as a genuine cornerstone of animal health and public safety.

Her passion for parasitology is rooted in everyday clinical reality.  She sees firsthand how gaps in parasite prevention affect patients, worry clients and — where zoonotic risk is involved — extend beyond the consulting room into the wider community.  Whether it is ensuring robust flea and tick protocols, addressing the growing threat of lungworm or advising travelling pet owners on exotic parasite risk, she believes that the practice team is uniquely placed to make a meaningful difference.  Her role allows her to influence not just individual consultations but the culture and systems that shape how an entire practice approaches parasite control.

She is a strong advocate for the One Health principle — that the wellbeing of pets, people and the environment are inseparable.  This belief drives how she approaches client conversations, team training and practice protocols.  ESCCAP's evidence-based guidelines are a resource she actively promotes within her team and she is passionate about translating that science into accessible, practical advice that clients can act on with confidence.

Beyond her clinical and practice management role, she sits on the Vets4Pets Council, where she is actively involved in driving meaningful change across the wider veterinary network.  This experience has strengthened her understanding of how education, collaboration and shared standards can raise the bar for animal care at scale — values she sees fully reflected in ESCCAP's mission.

She is honoured to support ESCCAP UK & Ireland's work and to contribute a frontline clinical and leadership perspective to an organisation whose goals she is wholly aligned with.
