Chair of Interdisciplinary Parasitology
Diplomate EPVC - Specialist™ in Parasitology
University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science
Hany conducts research in the interdisciplinary field of parasitology, crossing boundaries between parasitology, molecular biology, ecology, evolutionary biology and epidemiology. He is interested in studying how and why parasites alter host signalling pathways and metabolism and applies these alterations for therapeutic benefits. He also tests and develops novel anti-infective drugs, novel therapeutic approaches, and elucidates drug mode of action and adverse effects. Key areas of interest include host-parasite interaction, anti-parasitic drug discovery, parasite evolution and parasites of public health impacts.
