The veterinary profession is doing an amazing job of continuing pet health care while keeping risk to staff and clients to a minimum. Part of this care, is continued routine parasite prevention treatment for cats and dogs which remains vital during the COVID-19 outbreak. Posting, delivery and collection points for treatments means that cover can continue while minimising transmission risk. Without routine prevention, flea infestations and worm burdens will increase leading to increases in zoonotic parasitic exposure risk and pet morbidity. ESCCAP UK & Ireland is continuing to update its website, LinkedIn page and answer parasite questions via the website so if anyone has any parasite related queries please feel free to get in touch.
