Dog Borrelia seroprevalence with human Lyme

A paper using a large data set in the US has demonstrated a link between dog Borrelia seroprevalence with human Lyme incidence https://geospatialhealth.net/index.php/gh/article/view/750. This does not mean infected dogs are a direct risk to people but shows that infected dogs can act as sentinels that people sharing the same walking and activity environments as infected pets may also have been exposed to infected ticks.
