ESCCAP UK & Ireland has launched a new funding initiative aimed at supporting the veterinary community through activities and research that advance veterinary education and veterinary parasitology.
The programme invites applications for projects that align with ESCCAP UK & Ireland’s mission to equip veterinary professionals with the knowledge and tools to improve parasite management. By supporting both educational and research initiatives, the scheme promotes evidence-based parasite control and more sustainable use of parasiticides, helping the profession address emerging challenges such as drug resistance and the environmental impact of parasite control strategies through education, collaboration and practical research.
A new “Research Funding” page on the ESCCAP UK & Ireland website provides full details of the programme, including eligibility criteria and an online application form. Funding is available for a wide range of educational activities — such as workshops, seminars, webinars, surveys and teaching materials — as well as research projects, including pilot studies, surveillance work and studentships.
Applications must be led by veterinary professionals or academic staff based in the UK or Republic of Ireland, with research typically undertaken locally and completed within three years. Funding is generally capped at around £3,000 per year, per project. The closing date for applications is 1st April each year, with all submissions assessed by the ESCCAP UK & Ireland Research Committee based on scientific merit, educational value and potential contribution to advancing veterinary parasitology.
